G’Day!! I think the program’s pace is catching up with the delegates. Check out the first photo – and this was the beginning of the day. As we made our way back to the “Top End” towards Darwin, students had a chance to view one of the wonders of the animal kingdom in Litchfield National Park. Deaf and blind grassing eating termites have constructed mounds that are over 15 feet high. That’s the same as deaf and blind humans building a 1.5 mile high skyscraper – and that’s only the third that is above ground. Amazing! At a rest stop everyone had the chance to get a photo of the water buffalo made famous in Crocodile Dundee. Then off we went to beautiful Wangi Falls. Sorry – no swimming allowed until the crocodile surveys are completed. During the wet season the water reaches to the tops of the falls making it very easy for crocs to find a new home! Lucky for us Florence Falls was totally croc free! After dinner everyone had a chance to shop for Tim-Tams and other “supplies” for the trip to Cairns. It was a 4:00 wake up call for the short ride to the airport. We are now aboard a Qantas jet bound for Cairns! One of the flight attendants just told me that this delegation is the best-behaved and most polite group he has served in the past few months. Kudos, parents! Your student is truly demonstrating the ambassadorial spirit!
Note: I’m having a difficult time uploading photos. I will update when I can. Cheers.
